centennial (er, quadricentennial): 400th idea celebrating 400 ideas
Hey! You! This is the 400th one!
You know, if you were stranded on a desert island (or better yet, a dessert island), you would need to keep yourself entertained to keep from going mad. Let's say, for kicks, that prior to your marooning, you had printed out every Elderly Apple strip ever created and published. Say you were able to actually able to stomach looking at each idea (even the hideous ones) for a full minute each.
As of right now, you'd be able to last for...400 minutes! After that, you're on your own.
Anyway, if you've been following Elderly Apple for some time (specifically, at least 100 strips prior to this), you know that I am a fan of doing different things on my centennials. Like actually writing. But other things too! And here's where you're thinking, "Oh, he makes an effort to not do anything new and exciting. I won't even wonder about it this time."
But that's where you're wrong, buster! For my quadricentennial, I actually am doing something new and exciting. Specifically, I am making a full, multi-panel comic that has some semblance of plot!
:O <--You This comic follows the exploits of everybody's favorite demigod-like, six-packed feline superhero, SUPACAT. This episode of his adventures is called "A Purr-Fect Hero" and shows the world's greatest superhero (sorry, No. 2) doing what he does best.
